mikaleda
If the charge light circuit in the cluster isn't connected that can cause your alternator to not charge. The only thing I can think would cause an issue like this is a burnt out cluster or dirty connections.

mikaleda
Possible its a fuse, but I would think everything would be dead. Couldn't hurt to check your fuses though

wavekayaker
I'm not 100% sure, but I do not think the 99 cluster is the same as the 97 cluster. I seem to remember 99 being a one year only.

logic23
99 cluster is different. the speedometer plug is different. 99 is a one year only cluster
mikaleda
99 cluster is different. the speedometer plug is different. 99 is a one year only cluster Thus doesn't explain why the original cluster isn't working. I have a feeling something else is wrong. Have you checked all the fuses? Edit. Just reread, sounds like your plug is where the problem is. Was it damaged while pulling the old cluster? Did it click back in completely when reinserted. Edited December 24, 2015 by mikaleda
