Old man with a WRX STI question

Recommended Posts

Hey there folks,

This is my first attempt at posting a question on a forum, so please forgive me if I create any breaches in etiquette. But I do have a question for you all. I've owned my 2006 STI since new. However, shortly after buying it I replaced the trunk lid and wheels with something a little more fitting of someone my age (I needed the car to look a little more subdued..). So, I've had this complete black STI trunk lid and gold "BBS" wheels up on my attic for about 10 years now. They are practically new and I'm wondering if they're worth anything. This is an honest question, if I were to put them up for sale, what would I expect to get for them? In other words, would it be worth the time and effort to try and sell them?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Thanks for the replies. I had actually forgotten they were in the attic until I put the Christmas stuff away recently. Like I said, they've been up there for close to 10 years now and if they're not worth the effort selling then I didn't want to go through the hassle of advertising, shipping, etc.. I think I'll do a little internet surfing one evening soon to see if anyone is selling something similar and what they are selling them for.

Thanks again.

Dave

ive seen pristine bbs wheels and tires fetch 2k, wheels alone 1k

ebay or craigslist is suitable here.

also- USMG is geared towards older cars, not that we dont appreciate yours, but you will get a more target rich environment if you look at forums such as nasioc, etc

i would guess based on a quick search your decklid is worth about 3-500

Just a heads-up...the trunk lid will fit WRX from 2002-2007, I believe..lots of young-gens would love that wing.

The wheels are 5x114.3 bolt pattern, which makes them less compatible than the more standard 5x100 on most other Subarus (including the WRX) of that vintage...but as stated above, they should be well worth the effort to sell.

TD
