Monroe struts

Featured Replies

I think its time I replace my struts on my Loyale wagon.

I've never done this before.

I'm looking at some options online and the Monroe struts look pretty good.

dose anyone have experience with these?

or some other brand?

I have monroes on my Rx all the way around. Good stock replacement and they do race with them.

thanks ''Naked Buell''

I'm glad I could hear from someone who has them.

Oh yeah, one more modification. It is mentioned in the write up that it may increase cv angle from the rear diff outwards. So what I did, because no one likes to do a mod that causes more problems down the line, is the four bolts that hold the the rear diff, I lengthened. I set my floor jack on the rear diff, with the tires on the car, removed the bolts that hold the diff., then slowly lowered the jack until I liked the angle of the cv's. Then I measured the distance and with and bought spacers and longer grade 8 bolts and re-installed and my cv's are perfectly straight.

I will take a pic and post later.

Nothing wrong with monroe. I prefer kyb but never seen replacements fail on either. Monroe is generally less expensive than kybs too.

I have had very good luck with the Sachs brand. KYB is the oem supplier for Subaru struts and they ride great too. Just had better luck with the Sachs holding up to offroad use.

So with the stock size tires on, I have 6.5" inches of clearance at the bottom of the rear diff.

What springs are you using for the rear Naked Buell ?

They look quite new.
