maintenance check

Featured Replies

According to Carfax, my car is due for a 45,000 mile maintenance inspection.  Nothing is going wrong with my car so I would only be taking it in just to have things checked out.  I'm a little nervous about doing this, hoping I don't get overcharged for anything.  I am not real car smart to know what it might need or not need.  And yet I hate to neglect getting the check, in case anything does need to be fixed. Just wondered if anyone else had thoughts about maintenance checks or experiences or advice.  I have a 2011 Legacy.

you could locate an independent mechanic that is soob-friendly. Ask for a suggestion in a new thread.

but, if you want to take it to a dealer, contact Carl Abrams at Bob Moore in OK city (cabrams@bobmoore.com), pretty far away but, maybe you can combine the trip with other activity?

Carl participates on Subaru forums. he's a sales guy but can probably hand your concerns over to someone that won't throw any curveballs at you.

Hi,

See attached which 'should' be a part of the Owner's Maintenance booklet - additional to the Owner's Manual.

Also, I like to see the CARS101.com  website for Maintenance info, too.

I don't see anything referring to the  'severe use' category used on older models. But depending on how you drive (commute?) you may want to favor the more pro-active maintenance options to keep your Subie happy.
