4X140 to 5X100 adapters

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I bought an older 83 a few months back and am fixing her up.  I decided for the time being(who knows it might be permanent) that I'm going to run 4x140 to 5x100 adapters.  There actually is a guy here locally in Reno Nevada that will make them for 280 dollars for all 4.  If anyone on here is interested I can get you into contact with him.  I got into contact with him because my friend that builds trucks here in town uses him for custom wheel spacer/adapters.

Happy Subaruing!

i am going to lower my 1991 loyale and later do a 2.2ej swap but i need a new set of wheels

-thanks

Adapters are a really poor way to change your lug pattern and will put extra force on your 30 year old wheel bearings, causing them to fail sooner.  Do a proper 5-lug swap if wheels are that important to you.

XT6 rear hubs are the only trivial component to find, you can use EJ stuff for the front.  Custom rear hubs is the alternative, and there have been several runs of reproductions made to date.

i will do that on the rear and do adapters on the front and do 1 inch less of back space on the rear and do 13x9 on the front with a 4 inch backspace and 13x9 on the rear with a 5 inch backspace

And in English?? I don't understand why all the back spacers - what are they exactly??

why not run the EJ front struts, brakes and hubs?

If you do the rears properly you'll be upgrading the brakes to that of the EJ donor. Best practice is to match the front brakes from the EJ donor vehicle.

Cheers

Bennie
