August 30, 20178 yr Has anyone ever removed the front bumper cover on a 2006 Forester? The driver's side headlight housing is 2/3 full of water. Apparently to get to the headlight housing I have to remove the front bumper cover. Any help would be appreciated.
August 31, 20178 yr DUDE! 2/3 full, you should be able to just pull the bulb out and get most of it out. Then just tape a small hose to a wetvac to suck out the rest. Then look for where the waters getting in and seal that up.
September 1, 20178 yr My son has an '06 forester, there is a lot of condensation in both headlights. No lakes in there yet though.
September 1, 20178 yr I had to use some polyseamseal or similar to push into the seam on top of the OBW's left tail light. seems to have stopped the infiltration so far.
September 5, 20178 yr Drill a 1/8" hole in the lowest corner in the bottom of the lens. As for bumper removal: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f85/how-remove-06-headlights-dissasembly-paint-clear-corners-11516/#/topics/11516
September 5, 20178 yr drill the hole. had to do that with my 4runner headlights....although in the housing since the lens is glass. sealed up everywhere else with rtv, but now not even condensation can build up. the heat from the lamp keeps it burned off
