EA82 dicconected now fast idle!

Featured Replies

My egr has not done much work since installed in a clean condition

15000 km if that

Just disconnected it to see if it was cause of lumpy idle and started up first time today, drove off to find once warmed up she idles about 1200 - throttle body vac port plugged.

So connected egr again to find idle back to 800

Something dicky in the egr me thinks

Never had one do that. Not that it can't.

Check the CTS , those can mess with idle, and not cause a code while doing it.

Well, getting best fuel economy so far...see if it continues, or balances out next fill :D

If you can google the john bennet cooling system, he was doing radical things with EGR, like porting them out to increase its contribution at the right moments gaining economies, addressing cavitation caused by water pumps, recirculating coolant bypassing the radiator and getting cooler running systems, thermostat in the lower hose like EJs, and gaining power increases
