December 26, 20178 yr I got a third eye for Christmas. Can I put it on my '85 Brat GL without cutting up the current grill? The car is offsite for winter storage (this is Minnesota) so I can't mock it up. Also where does the switch go on the dash? I didn't get a switch or wiring to the 5 pin connector on the third eye unit. Is a wiring diagram available? Thanks in advance.
December 27, 20178 yr It is my understanding the central/passing light only came on models with single/dual headlights, never on the quad arrangement as you have. So the grille will need to be modified/cut to work.
December 27, 20178 yr You must trim a 4-beam grill to fit the center lamp. The switch mounts to the left of the steering column, in one of the holes by your left knee. There should be a diagram in the USRM.
December 27, 20178 yr Author My daughter who gave it to me for Christmas said that the owner who sold it to her told her that it was from an 1982 Brat GL which would mean quad headlights.
December 27, 20178 yr Well if that's what some stranger told your daughter, who told you, who is telling us, then it must be correct. Post pics once you've got it all mocked up!
January 15, 20188 yr Was the third eye even offered on the second gen GL Brat? Only for 1982. There are 2 versions for cars.80-81 and 82
January 15, 20188 yr I'm still waiting to see it mocked up on a stock, quad-beam '83+ GL front end.... Cuz that's how they came, right?
January 17, 20188 yr Author Car is still in storage and out of reach. I'm working on getting the wiring and dash switch.
