Upgrade door light switches EA81

Featured Replies

to EA82!

Think I got into pinching the EA82 rear door light switches due to less use on them

They use a retainer screw instead of EA81 just jamming into their 14 mm hole

Used a step drill up to 15 mm with cut wires poked I sidecavity and used a cone drill to get hole out to 16 mm

Once switch body in place used 6 mm bit through the mounting screw hole just to get a starter dimple for 3 mm drill bit to go right through.

Got a much better looking and younger generation Niles made door switch. Where the door strikes the switch I added a self adhesive door cabinet anti slam button. Gonna up grade it to a thicker rubber pull through button on the door as light turns disco on the road.

Cheap and cheerful improvement on the Brumby, didn't take long, just some soldering of the two wire switches each door

I just glued a UHT milk lid to my door and that sorted my door switch :D

Cheers

The EA81 switches had become very hit and miss as to whether they were going to work, the teat end having worn through over the years on one, missing on the other. I wanted mine to look factory and last - coz I sealed one side in with threebond, so its never coming out ever again :)
