March 27, 20188 yr There's really no difference. The 2002 kit will be stronger (rated for 165 HP). Both will work and since the power level is the 93 2.2 you can use either without problem. The 93 is probably cheaper and if you already have that flywheel go with that one. GD
March 28, 20188 yr Subaru = Lego. Pick one We have a gen3 liberty (legacy) that's running a gen2 solid flywheel with the gen3 clutch pressure plate no worries. This was done to remove the squeaky dual mass flywheel. Cheers Bennie
March 28, 20188 yr Author I’m only concerned because my ej22 is a cable clutch setup and the ej20 Impreza transmission was a push clutch hydro setup.
March 28, 20188 yr Oh this is a WRX transmission with a pull clutch isn't it? You have to swap over to hydro. No way to make that work with a cable. GD Edited March 28, 20188 yr by GeneralDisorder
March 29, 20188 yr Author That’s what I was thinking as well. How different is that? Do I need the entire pedal assembley out of the wrx?
March 29, 20188 yr Yes entire pedal assembly from an 02 to 05 WRX. Plus master, slave, and hose. Or if you found a pedal assembly from a 91 to 94 Legacy Turbo sport sedan 5 speed this would work as well. Also entire clutch and flywheel assembly for the WRX. GD
March 29, 20188 yr Hang on, so is it a WRX gearbox or the NA Impreza box? In my L series I'm running the phase two box (8 bolt) with the factory L series pull clutch setup mated to an EJ22E. I'm pretty sure I'm using a Gen1/2 clutch fork. Find out exactly what the gearbox is for the most accurate help you can possibly get from other forum members. If you don't know what a term means, please ask! There's a HUGE difference between the push and pull clutch setups! Cheers Bennie
March 29, 20188 yr If it's push clutch its a turbo trans. If its from a wrx there's a larger problem because it has a 1.1:1 center diff and has split ratios and you would need wrx rear diff too
