May 5, 20187 yr oem got shorter in 06/07 - maybe pull from a wreck and swap? or check the usual suspects; cusco, grimmspeed, kartboy, whiteline etc. ? Edited May 5, 20187 yr by 1 Lucky Texan
May 5, 20187 yr Take the shifter out. It's a stick with a bracket welded to it. Use a cutoff wheel to slice the welds that hold the bracket to the stick. Move stick 1/2~3/4" up the stick. Re-weld. Keep in mind, the furher you move it up, the shorter the throw, but the more effort it will take. That's why I say 1/2" to 3/4" is about perfect. any further and angles get weird and effort gets high.
May 12, 20187 yr Like Gloyale stated, shorten, weld. If the assembly has soft rubber isolation bushings, those can often be replaced with something like a harder durometer rubber, or maybe urethane, etc. The stick will vibrate more, but should feel more solid. I used to completely bypass the rubber in my Fox bodies (different set up) effectively making the shifter feel like a solid piece with the trans, and it firmed up the feeling quite a bit.
