I'm looking for replacement front struts for my 1981 DL Wagon. Sadly all autoparts stores only have rear shocks. The stealership claims that they can't find any parts for my car because their system only goes back to 1985. What are my options here? I could try and search around more if I had a part #. Anyone have access to the part number? or have any good struts that they'd be willing to part with? 

There are better dealers that didn't throw away their old books.   BUT the are likely NLA - but I am only guessing, from seeing a similar thread recently.  Some of the guys with EA81s will add info.
Used is more likely to be found.  Or adapt something from a newer car.  This is also discussed in that other thread.

 

happy I have a pair hoarded from dealer some years back, but getting worried even EA82 4WD front struts bit light on at Rock.

Time to start lobbying manufacturers to keep supporting these platforms...  Or convert to aftermarket coilovers.
