Under fender rust repair 81 BRAT

Going to use POR 15 (degreaser, metal etching, POR 15) then prime and paint. Any other tips?

Was the strip of foam still on the fender ? Subaru used a sealant foam as a squeak reducer and that over time caused countless fenders to develop that same rust.

Good luck with it. Not much to worry about on yours.

YES...get that foam out of there! Clean, sand and treat. Then primer and paint/multiple coats. Use butyl tape on that seam to seal those new fenders I'm going to sell you!! :)

I’m just curious if you’re going to keep it nice n stock - original , or if at this time you’d have considered a swap to the quad light front ?

At this point move forward , I’m sure. It’s just such an opportunity right now that knuckleheads like me feel they have to ask.
