March 6, 20206 yr So what are some of you guys doing for the oil pressure gauge in the Brat? Ej just had the idiot light. How are you guys plumbing that in?
March 6, 20206 yr My EJ runs quite a bit more oil pressure than the old EA81 it seems. I adapted the EA81 oil pressure sender to the EJ22 no problem. Thing is after a few days it blows the seal on the EA81 oil sending unit and it leaks oil everywhere. After buying 3 of them I gave up. Let me know how you make out.

Switch port in case is 1/8 BSP, right? 1/8 NPT female tee: https://www.mcmaster.com/50785K75, with this adapter: https://www.mcmaster.com/4860K611. Or, a branch tee https://www.mcmaster.com/50785K219 with this adapter: https://www.mcmaster.com/4860K141 Copper tubing from engine to inside OP gauge with 3-4 coils of tubing between engine & firewall to prevent fracture.
March 6, 20206 yr I had the EJ switch on mine hooked up to some other warning light on the EA82 dash. Something with the AT, maybe? My car was originally an auto, and swapped to a manual at the same time. Yes, stock sensors are BSPT.
March 6, 20206 yr Author So my choices are, hook up to a mechanical oil pressure gauge, or just go with an idiot light of some kind, or aftermarket electric oil pressure gauge? Oh, thx czy for the links. Edited March 6, 20206 yr by Naked Buell
