April 7, 20205 yr Are there any or have to go custom ? My thought was to outfit my son’s ‘96 Legacy Outback. Thanks. I can’t recall seeing any up this way.
April 7, 20205 yr I found a factory unit on a Gen1 - this should crossover to the Gen2 without issue. Back in the day ppl used to modify the L series bash plate to fit the liberty/legacy models. Cheers Bennie
April 8, 20205 yr Yes, I've had a few both engine oil pan and rear diff. Not may junk yard runs these days, but if you don't find one let me know.
April 8, 20205 yr Author Larry , I’m dead sure I won’t find find one. Wait , I’d better not use dead. Lol If you do have one or find one I’ll gladly pay you as usual but would have it sent to my son in AZ. So please let me know , not in any real rush though. I have to get his Y pipe sorted out first from 2600 miles away. Have one here but the crack might just be ok to weld. Getting kids to communicate when you want ..... hahaha So at this moment I’m waiting to hear what he or his friends did. 96 Outback 2.2 should be the same as the 90-94 exhaust port , yes ?? The snowman 4 port. Mainly need a front bash plate to protect that Y pipe. Hoping he doesn’t really off-road it.
April 8, 20205 yr I have y pipes in good condition and cats for that matter. Dual Port. The 96 2.2 may be a Single port. Have him take a pic.
April 8, 20205 yr Author You know , my wife’s 94 Legacy is an Outdoor Sport edition or Alpine , whatever. It did indeed have a skid plate. But I’m keeping that on her car. Damn , they just scrapped my 93? AWD parts car wagon. Crap! I’ll bet there was one on it too. Waaaagh !!!
April 8, 20205 yr Author Yeah , I’m trying to get him to send a good pic. He shoved the phone under but didn’t point it upward. That was like 3 days ago. Arrgggh
April 8, 20205 yr Author Larry , I’m ok with those pipes. I managed to tuck a couple away at least before they mostly vanished up here. But if he needs a 2 port , then I’m needing one.
April 9, 20205 yr Factory bash plate typically protects the sump, the exhaust is still exposed. Custom is the way to go there. Even a bent up street sign is generally better than nothing. Just don’t get caught with the street sign! Cheers Bennie
April 9, 20205 yr Author Yes I was think that same thing about coverage. Pipes still exposed but at least there’s some possible deflection. Stop sign !! That’s us. Hahaha He watched me torture Subarus taking him to meets in the woods so it’s tough to tell him to go easy.
