First Project Build

How do you make something yours when you’ve already had it?

And how do you blow it up in two weeks, intentional?

Looking forward to seeing where you go with this build.

It was already modified when I bought it, but never properly tuned. Instead of having it tuned, I decided to drive it for a while, and overheated it, blew the headgaskets, and locked it up. As for "making it mine", I'm referring to visual mods. Its a beautiful car, but its just not exactly what I wanted.

I ordered a new wiring harness and ecu for the ej20x today. When they come in I'm taking them to a wiring shop to have the jdm harness merged with the usdm dash. I'll hopefully be ready to drop the motor in a few weeks.

Nice!

Why would you do that? The stock ECU can be tuned for the 20X. No harness mods required. Those cars are CANBUS and you can't easily swap an ECU in them without serious issues with the VIN not matching and communications with the other modules in the car. That's really stupid.

Well, I'm new to the Subaru market, and was told by iWire that was what I needed to do. No need to be rude
