Featured Replies

well im bored tonight and was just wondering since i really want to do this in the future.

is it posible to twin turbo a ea82t?

with 2 stock ea82 turbos.

what needs to be done?

estimate on money?

parts needed?

custom parts?

Yes, I have seen them. They use them in sand rails. I will dig through my old mags and see if I can find the ad. the mag was sand sport. mostly VW stuff but they are liking the water cooled suby motors now a days.

I remember they had this V-8 twin turbo in a rail that cranked out 800 HP. :slobber:

are there already good set ups for the ea82t?

if there are is there any place to get steps on how to do it?

or a parts list?

most likely to keep the cost down, you might want to do it yourself. It seems like it would be hard but I'm planning to do a twin turbo conversion on an EA81T motor. I'm gonna be using smaller turbos but the only thing I'm gonna have to make will be.....up pipe, down pipe, and the intake tubing for the turbos and the intercooler. Anything is possible if you have the time/money to do it:D

i got the time and i can get the money.

will i need new intake mani?

how will turbos set up? 1 turbo for each head?

is that possible?

is it possible to do a turbo for each head and do a duel exhaust?

sounds interesting lol.

thanks for responses so far.

how do you think the intake could be set up?

it would be gettin cramped by now.

You will probably need aftermarket fuel management and possibly spark management. I doubt a stock ECU will like twin turbos.. But theres probably a way to fool it too

  • Author

would an SAFC work for the fuel management?

what could be done for spark?

are there ecu upgrades? or one suitable for the job?

Prolly be less of a headache and cost to just buy an EJ20TT + ecu and harness and make it all fit :)

one turbo stuffed under the hood of a subaru is enough of a headache, just build a good single turbo setup with a good intercooler. its enough of a challenge. everybody talks about it but bottom line is, a single t3 or wrx turbo would be easier, and look cooler. thats all i got to say, everybody freak out now.

Not with a LHD drive car..

Turbo number 2 and the steering linkage don't play well together.

id rather build an old school motor rather then a newer one.

there isnt a way to go around the steering linkage?

i would rather have 2 small turbos spoil rather than 1 big.

has it been done?

and is there any information on how to do this?

see, the thing is, there have been several posts like this. try a search. nobody got past the sitting two turbos side by side stages.

  • Author

no body could find a place to put the turbos?

it seems to me like there is plenty of room in my engine bay.

There was a guy quite a while back in eurpoe that was doing an EA82TT project. He stacked the turbos on the passenger side somehow.. haven't seen him in quite a while.

probably blew himself up trying to shove some nitros in there as well.

you could always stickem both ontop of the tranny stickin out of the hood, aussie style!

  • Author

thats how i planned on doing it.

thats why i asked if a turbo for each head is how it works.

and then will i have dual exhaust?
