Are the rear torsion bars interchangeable between all EA81's??

 

I need to get a new one for my Brat, could I also find pull one off of a hatch or wagon if they are in better shape?

They are the same.

 

 

I don't know if they are rated the same but the replacement torsion bars are the same part number between the Brat and the Hatchback.

hmmm makes me think that the bars for the wagon could be a lil heavier in spring rate cause of the extra weightwouldn't you think so Ken?

they probably just preload the bar more on the wagons comparied to the hatchs

Dave, If you need one I know of the same BRAT with the good gas tank we could pull it off of there if you wanted. I would try a one of the BRAT's from Harry's first since that would be much cheaper.

so if i run EA82 coilovers on the rear of my brat, it is redundant with the torsion bars. can you remove the torsion bars and run without them? or just set them to do as little as possible?
