Help me empty an EA81 fuel tank

Featured Replies

I have not quite a half full tank of gas in the Brat.

I want to empty it out so I can pull the tank out while I'm having my diff issues. Is there a way to use the pump and filter and just disconnect a hose somewhere and pump it into another container??

Or, should I just siphon it out?

I would like to run it through the filter so I can safely use it elsewhere...

well just clean the underside of the tank and there should be a bolt on the bottom of the tank near the center of the lowest part of the tank just put something under that and take the bolt out

just be careful to make no sparks and have no open flame around and also recommend wearing some nitrile or chemical gloves and also some chem goggles or at least some safety glasses

you can pump it out, as far as where to disconnect the line, that is up to you, after the pump,or before the carb

Take the bolt out. Use cheesecloth to filter the dirt that may be in the tank or around that may fall into things. Safer than using a pump. Just need a gas can close to the amount of gas left in tank. Then get a large funnel. I have one that has about a 12" diameter but the nozzle end fits into the gas can.
