December 6, 200421 yr I was picking through my vacuum lines yesterday looking for leaks, and came across a small black box on the passenger side fender that says 'Boost Sensor' on it. It has a vaccum hose connected to the intake and another electrical connection. Now the car is a carbed ea82, so I can't figure out why they'd put a boost sensor in there unless it's universal for all the engine types.
December 7, 200421 yr So you can turbo it. I really dont know. It might be the sensor that opens the boost flaps...aka the secondaries....maybe? Im just guessing.
December 7, 200421 yr If I remember right that's a part of the high altitude compensation system. The part itself is basicaly a Absolute pressure sensor. It probably says boost on it because one of the other Japanese auto makers originaly designed it to be use as a boost sensor.
December 7, 200421 yr wjm i got a 2 bar map sensor from a 91 isuzu impulse... that means its good to one bar, or 14.whatever lbs. it has 3 wires, and i could send you the page from the fsm that tell you the values.. like 4 lbs, is .456 ohms... stuff like that.
