Boost sensor on a carbed EA82?

Recommended Posts

I was picking through my vacuum lines yesterday looking for leaks, and came across a small black box on the passenger side fender that says 'Boost Sensor' on it. It has a vaccum hose connected to the intake and another electrical connection. Now the car is a carbed ea82, so I can't figure out why they'd put a boost sensor in there unless it's universal for all the engine types.

If I remember right that's a part of the high altitude compensation system. The part itself is basicaly a Absolute pressure sensor. It probably says boost on it because one of the other Japanese auto makers originaly designed it to be use as a boost sensor.
