Took the Hatch out for a *very* quick run.

I had a terrible weekend. Actually, my cars had a terrible weekend. :(

On saturday we decided to take the hatchback for a quick spin in the field. This is the spot where our new house is going to be built and the brush need to be knocked down anyway. :D Unfortunately, things took a bit of a strange turn when we discovered that the contractor had not filled in the extra perk holes he dug when prepping for our septic system. Wouldn't you know it, we found one the hard way. By the time I saw the mound of dirt and realized what it was, it was way too late. Luckily, we weren't going very fast. Maybe if the car had a welded rear it could have driven itself back out of the hole, instead it was Father in Law and a beater Ford to the rescue.

All in all the damage done wasn't too bad, and if it comes down to it, I have another driver's side fender I can put on it. I drove it back to our house and didn't notice anything amiss, I think we got off lucky.

That was the better part of my bad weekend. On Saturday Night/Sunday Morning a strong windstorm came roaring though Washington. We live pretty high up in the hills and the winds were very strong at our place. Strong enough to pull our metal car canopy loose, and smash it up against my WRX a couple times. Now I get to call around getting estimates and

decide whether or not I want to file a claim with the insurance company. :(

No pics of the WRX, still too depressed to take them. :banghead:

Must've been one big hit to knock the grill and the headlights off, eh? Looks like you might need a lift kit and some bigger tires next time. Sorry about thw wrx, that sucks to see such a nice car get bashed like that.

Hehe, yeah I guess I need to reinstall those parts as I'll be driving the hatch now while the WRX gets fixed. It's already got the lift, just needs the bigger tires. :D

Man it was a bad weekend for subarus... Don't mean to go off topic but I too bent my a arm on my legacy on saturday. I somehow hit a patch of ice or something and went sliding into a curb messed up one of my nice legacy gt wheels and bent my a arm to crap. Its fixed though. Then my wagons disty just died out of the blue. That was fun.:banghead: Its pretty easy to change a arm and rod plate on a ea81 though. So you lucky there... Can't say about the wrx cause theres no pics! Ouch...

Yeah I got lucky with the Hatch, fixed it last weekend. Turns out it was just the radius rod that was bent.

The WRX should be done today hopefully. The estimate came back at around $3,000. My insurance company should love me on that one.

Here's a pic of the bent radius rod, with the replacement as a reference.
