Destudding studded tires?

Featured Replies

was wondering if you can destud studded tires? got a set of four, brand new toyo's for FREEEE!! thanx craigslist! and all four have studs...and was curious if i could do this or have it done at a reasonable cost..

thanx

you can do it with a small flathead screwdriver. It'll take you awhile to do it but it can be done...

you can use either. since they are brand new they should come out a lil easier. You do have to pry from the underside lip to get them out. I use a screwdriver to pry the lip up and then grab it with the pliers

I'm with Roobaflu....large side cutters, and a screw-driver to use as a fulcrum. Pops those puppies right out. I was wondering who beat me to the free tires. I was looking for a set of free wheels.

and if you ever change your mind I've got some thread in ice racing studs :P

put some bleach in a spray bottle and mist the treads that have studs in em. the bleach softens the rubber.

Its also a cheap way for good burnouts

speaking of burnouts... just light em up on the road, and shoot sparks for a while! :drunk:

I'm with archemitis...

I'm thinking "FULL WHEEL SPEED"

Those babies should be good off-road!

off road maybe but we get a fair amount of rain here(well, we use to anyway ), and studs suck in the rain.....

Alan,

Ya I know, I was just messin with ya...

Sounds to me like you need to spend some quality time with a pair of pliers.

Free is a good thing :D
