Quick Fix for motorized seat belts???

Featured Replies

Anybody have a quick fix for the motorized seat belts on the Loyale? They dont move. One is stuck in the forward position and one near the back. Am I looking for a relay? A sensor?

Are you sure you aren't talking about a Legacy? I've never seen a Loyale with power belts.

On my 91 legacy, under the center console lid was a allen wrench, if you pulled a plug out of the B pillar, (you have to slide the seat around to access it) and stuck the wrench in and cranked it, it would move the belt back to where it should be.

Yes, I am quite sure. It is a 93 Loyale. I saw the allen head bolt. If I move it to the correct possition will it re-activate?

Yes, all fuses are in good shape. I do not have a wire diagram for the car yet. My door sensers ( the ones that turn on the dome lamps) are in good shape as well.

Yeah my 91 Loyale's seatbelts stick in the closed position also. When I open the door I just stick my finger in the locking mechanism and move it around a bit. Low and behold the seatbelt moves back!

:D

Well I found the problem. There is a computer that controls the seat belt motors. On the sedan it is located in the trunk below the speaker panel, right in the center. For some odd reason this one was unplugged. So I plugged it in and they work great.

If I remember right, the switch for the power seatbelts is part of the latching mechanism in the door.

My latch switch is sporatic on the drivers side but works ok with a screwdriver. Anyone had one of theswe out and adjusted it? Any links to subaru junkyards if I can't adjust it? thanks
