5.25'' or 6.5''

Featured Replies

Stock Subaru GL 1987, were the side speakers 5.25'' or 6.5'', for the front and back seat speakers, thanks

Stock its 5.25 in the front doors and 6.5 in the rear doors.

Shallow 6.5's fit in the front doors with no problem (you'll have to use self tapping screws though)

Good 6.5's will fit in the front doors if you use a 1/2" spacer... but this leads to some door panel modification...

well, i just bought 4 XS-V1640H for sub $90 shipped, we'll see

also, subarutex, i wanted to ask you what car is the center car in your sig

Its a 1987 Subaru RX

Fulltime 4wd with center diff lock 5spd, dual range

Turbocharged

Yup, my sig has one too :)

Ive been able to fit 6x8s in the front of my RX. I dont have pix, but I should get some. I didnt have to use any spacers, and they are not shallow by any means.

well subarutex's RX looks alot better then the others I see, I guess it's that modded plastic fender thing

Plastic Fender Thing? I'll have to check my manual for that, never heard of it.

I have mine modded just alittle:
