May 15, 200520 yr sorry no pix at this time but here is a discription, 1986 GL brat, dark grey with matching low topper. very little rust, 56k miles the funny part, secound owner brat NO steps in the sides and no seats not even seat brakets tthat i could see or even evidence there had ever been any. no damage so the panels where the steps should be arnt replaced,,, so were steps an option in the last years of the brat or what?
May 15, 200520 yr seahag has one with this exact description... 86 w/ no sidesteps or seats. I think it was decided that seats/sidesteps stopped in either 85 or before these brats were made in 86
May 16, 200520 yr yes, '85 was the LAST year for the jumpseats. Check out Seahag's post in the Historic Forum...
May 17, 200520 yr I have also found holes where there was thin trim midway along the body, and thick trim along the lower part. I have a lot of the thick trim, the thin trim is a question... what did it look like? Anyone have close up picture? What were the bumpers like? Mine are both painted black. The rear looks original paint, kind of black satin/matte and the front has a plastic cover that's painted gloss black. I have seen pictures where there is a chrome trim strip on the front about midway. Can someone point me to some pictures of original bumpers? I'm not sure if this should be in the restoration forum or here?
May 17, 200520 yr Mary, go to the Homepage, and click on the "Subaru BRAT" link on the left side... there's a "Brat Colors" page with tons of pics of stock and custom brats. also from the Homepage, if you check the "80's Subarus" page, there is a General specs area that has some photos too....

Thanks! Funny Tim found those pages just before I saw this... I just dashed off the rest of my exterior trim wish list to Russ Hill, he has my elusive perfect driver's fender! Hope to be dressed in new white primer before Memorial Day.
