know anything about the JDM EJ20DETT?

Recommended Posts

didn't find much in searches.

are parts available for this motor/trans combo in the states?

i've worked on EA82, ER27 and EJ22's, that's it. i don't know anything about these JDM EJ20DETT motors. were they offered in the states? what came with 2.0 liter motors? are there any parts i wouldn't be able to source being from japan?

what are the issues with installing this in an XT6?

crossmember and drive shafts wouldn't be a problem for me.

custom cv axles doesn't seem like a big deal.

what about getting the dash to work with this set up?

probably loose my speed sensitive power steering.

are these reliable motors...like the EJ22?

No such thing as an EJ20DETT.

that would be nissan-ricer talk for a 2.0 suby engine with DOHC and twin turbo tho.....

basically its the same thing as any other EJxxx engine. YOu can get parts for it easily. JDM stuff is easy to find.

they are reliable as long as you treat it right.....

check out nasioc.com for all your EJxxx information needs.

yes.........but you cant fit the twin turbo motors into the USDM cars unless you feel the need to use a JDM donor car for the steering stuff, the second turbo is right where the steering rod is. and you need the wire harness out of the car, unless youre going stand-alone, like MS-EDIS, or what ever you choose. not to mention the fact that the XT6 uses the EA82 style tranny, which you will need an adapter plate to mate the EJ20 to your tranny. but it is possible to do.

so why are the parts available for it then if it was never used here?

t-belts, water pump, oil pump, seals, head gasket set, etc?

moving the turbo's can't be that hard.

can the EJ22T ECU handle the same amount of power as the EJ20T? can you realize 250 or more out of a stock EJ22T?

im in the process of searching nabisco.

basically, all the EJ's are all the same, just like the EA82's.

an EJ18 or 16 is the same as an EJ25. Just different bore/stroke....sometimes different heads...

many things will interchange. Basic engine parts, like crank/pistons/rods/gaskets.....you can find easily from SOA, but you ahve to mix'n'match somethings. Like EJ20G pistons you cant get here...but the EJ205's are the same thing, but not forged. So in a pinch you can use them. But you can find aftermarket forged EJ20x pistons easy.

Or you can slide an EA82T piston in there, its the same bore. :D
