turbo a 2.2L

Featured Replies

I'm looking to turbo charge my sub! any one know of a company that makes a kit to add a turbo to a NA engine. I got a 99 legacy with a NA 2.2L. I can't seem to find a company that makes a kit for my application. Also is there any problems with adding a tubo to a NA engine. will the internals take the extra punishment?

To have a long life with the engine, you'll want to find a turbo engine to put in the car. Do a search on the board and you'll see what all engine internals need to be replaced in order to have a decent amount of boost, and long engine life.

it would cost you about the same if not less to just do a wrx swap, or even a jdm legacy swap. last i checked, bolt on turbo kits are around $2500 and you can get turbo engine swap. that and a swap will last a lot longer than a bolt on turbo set up.

the only turbo kit i've seen is made by avo, and i think that it was around $4,500 to buy it, comes with everything you need to bolt on and go, but i think that it would probably be cheaper to do a wrx swap instead.... its up to you.... check http://www.rallitek.com for the turbo kit, thats the only place i have found it anyway.....
