drain plug crush washer size??

Featured Replies

The last two or three trips to the local part shop, i received the wrong sized crush washer.. I dont want to have to reuse the old one again.. Can somebody tell me the ID of the crush washer for a 98 2.2? I dont want to leave the shop til i got the right one :D

thanks

jason

what gives with our SNs not carrying over from the old board..

I'm not sure about the size but the dealers sell them for less then a $1.00 and they will last for 3 or more oil changes.

You reuse them??? They are SOOO cheap I figure its worth changing them out each time. As far as I understand all subarus use the same washer... my 87 GL and my moms 96 OBS use the same washer (but different filters)

I belive I pay around 70 cents for my washers.

i think mine is on its third use... its a little hard to go get one, when there is no oil in the oil pan..

doesnt anybody know the diameter of the drainplug?

On an OEM crush washer, the ID is 20mm and the OD is 26mm. The drain bolt itself is 19mm x 1.25 pitch IIRC.

thanks for the info

thats what i wanted to know

crazy FHI.. always using that 1.25 pitch..

speaking of washers, anyone know offhand what size is needed to replace the manual transaxle/differential drainplug washer on an ea82?

ID is 27mm and OD is 30mm. For the $.75 or $1.00 these things cost, I don't know why people are going through soooooooo much trouble to find something aftermarket though... I should do a 'group buy' on drain gaskets :D!

Hehehehe...talking about replacing washer at each oil change, I've never even thought of replacing it. It didn't even cross my mind about replacing it. I've always thought I should reuse the old one until it breaks. How's that for a change? LOL

I never changed mine out either, until the recent Fumoto valve upgrade.

Never had a drop of a leak.
