September 21, 200520 yr This one comes out of the pass side large rubber grommet thats oval and 3" across. Anybody know what its for? I am removing Cruise control from the car and need to know if its unnecessary. Thanks!
September 21, 200520 yr Author Its not the AC drain. This is up in the top of the engine compartment to the left (pass side) of the spare tire area.
September 21, 200520 yr Cant see anything like that on mine, (has no cruise control, RHD) are you talking about the same grommet as the heater hoses go through?
September 22, 200520 yr Author nope, The grommet is horizantally in the body and the wiring harness goes thru it.
September 22, 200520 yr Author I thought the heater control one was a hard line going thru the firewall. This ones a flexible rubber line going thru the big grommet.
September 22, 200520 yr I think you are right. Where does the line go inside the car? Have you traced it yet? I don't remember if that one had dealer or factory A/C. If dealer install it may be a vacuum line for it.
September 22, 200520 yr There will be a vacuum line that actuates the gas pedal and throttle linkage through a big vacuum diaphragm under the dash.
September 22, 200520 yr I see. Mine definitely doesn't have that, although there are bits in the grommet which can be cut out to allow it through. I assume it for the cruise control, unless there are other differences between JDM and USDM cars i don't know about.
