September 25, 200322 yr My driver's side window rattles when it is partially rolled down and I am driving highway speeds or when I shut the door with it part way down. I had this happen on my Sentra I used to have as well. What causes this and suggestions for a fix? Thanks:bday:
September 25, 200322 yr Bit annoying isn't it!!! My '82 does the same thing. Haven't looked into it yet, may try to get to it this weekend and post back here with my findings. Have 2 other vehicles scheduled for repairs first, so it may be later Sunday.......
September 25, 200322 yr Loose regulator arm? Where's the rattle coming from? Inside the door panel? High or low?
September 25, 200322 yr Author I'll check again where the noise is coming from and report back, but I'm fairly sure it is coming from inside the door panel, and mid vert height and nearer the door's opening/jamb.
September 25, 200322 yr You may need to adjust the tracks that the window slides up and down on. There is an adjustment nut for the top and bottom of the front and rear track. If you look down from the top of the window and compare the passenger side to the drives side, you will probably notice the drivers glass is not snug against the rubber trim strips like the passenger side is. Just normal wear and tear. Adjust the window tracks and get it so it will just rub on the trim strips. Bill
September 25, 200322 yr My 82 Hatch did the same thing....... If I put my heater fan on high it blows the window out of the seal and I hear the wind noise as I'm driving....... I finally got in the habit of holding my window as I close the door..... and not running the heater over the 3rd speed..... I guess it's a moot point now...........since I removed my doors... For what it's worth, Glenn, 82 Hatch, transforming......:temper: 01 Forester, jealous..........:madder:
