I drive with my spark from 12.000 Kms and my spark plugs from 10.000 kms.

Should I replace them????

I'd say no, they should last much longer. I'd say in the 60,000km range at least.

hrm,im a yank. so i change mine at 10,000 miles.thats about 16,000 kilometers.

60,000 kilometers is over 37tousand miles! thats way too long, they would be eroded badly.

the only plugs that last that long are platinum. chevy says to change platinums at 90,000 miles but that still seems too long.

type of driving, driving conditions, condition of engine, turbo/na....lots of things probably make a difference. just check them every 10,000 miles and see what they look like. look for rounded edges, coloring, check gap and compare the set.

 

or get torque master plugs and never change them again. there is no gap to wear out. i ran one set with a matching set of magnecor ignition wires in two cars for about 150,000 total miles and they were in great shape. they run 12 dollars each, but retain good spark nearly indefinitely...supposed to anyway, i had good results with them.

Any quality plug in a modern vehicle with properly operating electronic ignition should last 30k miles of average driving without a problem. Now, if you're racing or have your foot in it a lot, that's a different story. Good platinums will last 100k miles.

I live on an island (lots of salty air and corrosion) and as a rule change mine every year or so, no matter the mileage...which is usually under 7,000 miles!
