Oil and the leaker u luv

Featured Replies

I hear all the time about these subys leaking oil, what kind, brand name included, of oil is everyone using. I have an 85 chevy van that leaked or burned a quart of oil a week. I switched to castrol, and now I don't put oil into it unless I 'm changing it.

On vehicles I own or have owned subaru or not I use Mobil 1 synthetic. My hatch I had leaked some oil so I used the 15w50 weight oil and it seemed to help.I guess it is kinda expensive though.:)

20W50 synthetic. I figure it's cheaper in the long run to baby the engine by putting in a quart of $6.99 oil a month. There have been alot of threads on this recently too. Do a search to find fifty different opinions different than mine.

I run Mobil1 Synthetic 10w-30 in my cars. If it's got a lot of miles on it and hasn't been running Synthetic, I'm scared to switch over for fear of big leaks (especially if it already drips), so I run the best Dino oil I know of, Castrol GTX 10w-30 or 10w-40.

amsoil or royale purple , i use amsoil in my 88 dl d/r wagon with 191,000mi leaks very little ,in 7,000mi i have only used 2 qt of oil

my sedan with slight seepage past the crank seal(filed down burr on crank) and blue smoke upon deceleration, i just changed it with 20w 50

in the turbo wagon i just changed with 15w 40 u-haul truck oil

0w-40 valvoline high milage switching over to castrol syntec next change
