Turbone Posted November 25, 2005 Share Posted November 25, 2005 All XT's are oddballs. The alt may work, may not. It may have a serpentine pulley on it, which will have to be changed. I have an XT engine in my RX, and tried to mount an L-series alt, and besides the different pulley, the shaft is a different length as well. rallyruss Posted November 26, 2005 Share Posted November 26, 2005 you can use an XT unit if you are willing to modify it a little. the mounting points are not quite the same and will require a small bracket to be fabricated on the adjustment side. the pully spacer needs to be machined down a bit. at least thats how it went on my wagon. the amperage is greater than the stock one but not as much as the XT6 unit.
