Wheel quandary: 98 Golds v.s. Speedlines

Featured Replies

Chew on this for a minute...put yourself in my shoes:

Months ago, you meet a guy who used to be a diehard Subaru owner. Through conversation, you learn that he has a few sets of Speedline rims and a set of stock 98 RS wheels from his ex unicorn RS sitting around that he has no use for. He used to very lighty dabble in the rally scene, and he says he bought the speedline rims wholesale in 1997 or early 1998. You express your interest in a possible purchase of a set, but don't follow up. Today, he calls you, leaves a message, and wants to know if you're interested still. He basically says they are of no use to him.

So obviously, you're interested, but you can only afford one set of lets say 4 sets. Would you grab the goldies or one of the speedline sets?? Model of speedlines is unknown.

Thanks,

Kevin

I'd take the RS wheels since I have a set on my XT6 and think they are the best looking wheel out there.

I say take the ones you want and tell him to post the others up for sale here. :)

Hahaha, it my little secret stash

If they are Speedline Safaris I will probably go with those, but then again the 98 golds are hard to come by...

Tell him you'll outright buy a set now and if he will hold onto the rest for -say - 4 months, you'll sell 2 sets for him and keep the third as payment!

On nasioc - folks are in a panic for wheels (I suspect though they want toput snow tires on them) right now.

I dunno
