Recommended Posts

Thank you both for the info.I needed to know if I had enough vacuum to operate an old WW2 horizon gyro that someone had sitting on a shelf .It requires 4.5 in hg.

Thanks again and Happy Christmas to all.

Do any of the knowledgable folks on this board know how much vacuum is produced (in hg) at the intake manifold of a non turbo ea 81?

Regards

Jude

Please note that the vacuum will go way down with throttle opening (duh!)... and with altitude. You may not be able to get a deep enough vacuum at 3/4 throttle. Perhaps a more important question is how much airflow the gyro needs; too great of a CFM demand and your engine won't idle... at least not at a low RPM.
