Baja rear tube bumper

Featured Replies

I am interested in making a one off rear tube bumper for my BAJA(Slippy). The front is pretty much taken care of. The rear tho....I keep catching it on bumps and it keeps coming out of the clips. Side note* I was lighty rear ended many months ago, all the top clips came out of the bumper, I never wanted to get it fixed..no time, no other vehicle* Anyway..Anyone else think about doing this for a BAJA? I'm sure you have done it to the older vehicles. I am just looking for tips and ideas.

Thanks,

Frank X.

Alot of people have been thinking about it... its just hard to figure out where to cut the old bumper off. I belive the bumper skin actually goes all the way around the bottom up to where the mudflaps are. So you would most likely have to cut it somewhere, or have the tube bumper wrap WAY around.

Mudrat was thinkin' about making one for the outback/baja rear tube bumper. But he needs a donor car. I like my factory rear bumper for now.

I would like to have my car be the donor. I cannot get it out to him tho. I would be taking the whole plastic bumper off. I know it would look odd with it off tho.

he's gonna have issues fitting it to your car if he doesn't have it

The mudrat front bumper is just HOTT on a baja... the one on his website makes me want one sooo bad...

OO!!!! That looks sooo hott!! I want something like that without the hitch tho.

If you don't care about the cosmetic aspect of it, Meaning the fact that the skin runs really high around the back and sides of the rear taillights....I can get a Donor here , and Build one for you....I was originally goi ngto build one very similar to the Brat bumper, but The bumper skin is the issue....

Give me a call on my cell, and we can chat more about it.....

P.S. Are you the one interested in buying a slightly used Front....from an outback..?

I'm working on it today....:)

Chat soon, John
