  2. Scott...Looks Wicked....Glad to see someone as crazy as me...Suggestion... Leave rear drivetrain alone and Cut 10-12 inches out of rear of body/taigate....If you bring the rear to just forward of the cubby compartment back there it works really well.... All depends on the type of fabbing you want to do.....Sheet metal or structure for running gear.? How much if any did you overlap the marrying of the front and rear section back together...? Hope to see it at the Show this year.... John

  4. There is another option.....it will gain you 2-3 inches of physical ground clearance before tires , and is All suspension lift.... It can net you more if I include a Block kit to it as well....But you are still limited unless you trim fender to clearance for tire diameter.... Pm me if you want more info on it.... John

We did However call it the Pickle...It has however gone to Subaru Haven Finally, And the Lift, Motor , and Trans are now In a 1980 Wagon affectionately named Pickle II ..... John
  6. So with this 4" Lift kit.....??? How much tire clearance Are you going to gain...? And with 4" of lift how much is suspension, and how much is Block...? Total ground clearance when Done...???? over stock..??? Sorry, After seeing the Ea-82 Lift, I gotta ask these questions.... inquiring minds wanna know.......   8. Man ...A guy doesn't stop by once in a while and the info hwy gets all whacked... Ok here is how it is in the AWD auto .....you guys are getting a 50/50 split when you clip the # 11 wire....This means instead of a 60/40 or 90/10 to the rear you get 50% to the rear...My problem with this In the BEAST originally was 50% allowed the clutch pack to still slip enough ( It was supposed to ) That the thing wouldn't drive over a curb with 33" tires....? I was using only the rear output shaft, so I Needed 100% to the rear all the time....To do this I had to get sneaky and redirect fluid flow through the valve body...Had nothing to do with Duty solinoid C , I Just made the Clutch Pack for the rear Output Lock up completely 100% ....Then Ran it to the Nissan T-case, and down to my Subi Diffs...With this Set up the thing will Climb a wall....And did at the Rubicon.... I am actually setting it back up to run that way again as we speak.....For this years Show...... Hope that clears it up for some of you...... John

As far as your poor milage and hard start cold or hot.....I have found several times now on the 90-94 Legacy's that the idle air control valve goes bad or is sticking internally.....And WILL NOT THROW A CODE.....? or May as you have said will make the code light blink while driving....? This unit is just to the passenger side of Center on the intake at the back side of it....You will find a Large hose ( about 3/4"-7/8") running from it to the air intake just under the Maf.... If this unit is gummed up or carboned up it can stick cuasing all kinds of weird grief..... It sounds like you have already checked and done the other things related to this , so I would check it next.... Also, HAve you checked the thing for actual codes....? It might tell you exactly where the problem is....... Good Luck, John

  12. Fry The Car your talking about was a Rock Crawler, and He did a 2.2 first then a Turbo 2.5 I believe...? Does really well at Competitions with it.....And yes he married it to a Chevy trans and I think Allison Custom t-cases...... Here is What I found to be the best So far In al my Rides I've Built... 2.2 motor and AWD auto I locked the rear output clutch so it was running at 100% to a Nissan T-case....Out of this I ran subi Rear difs, but a person could run solid axles just the same and If you are building it Full custom from the Ground it is what I would do... I ran this set up with 4:11 gears and 32" tires on the Rubicon trip with no issues ....Till I hit a rock the wrong way.... Have fun......John

A Legacy or Outback or Forrester is a car with an engine pushing 135-165 hp..in a car weighing roughly 3500 lbs give or take...Also running 14-16 inch wheels... If you take a 3:90 trans out of a car that had a motor running 90-102 hp and wheels in the 13inch rage and you stuff it behind the bigger motor it will effectively be Ok even with larger tires.... Example...I took a 4:11 AWD 5 speed out of a 98 Forester....and replaced it with a 3:90 2WD Hi-Lo tranny from a GL....We stuffed the Phantom LSd in the front diff, and a stock Subi LSd in the rear Diff....He runs 27-28 inch Mud terrain tires on it and It gos as well if not better now than it did before.... When thinking about this you need to remember Subaru Geared 1-5 in the 3:90 for 13 rubber and less hp....and they geared the 4:11 box for more hp and bigger rubber...... Make Sense...? Good....John

Shane's Forester is Still running just fine with his Hi-lo Lsd 3:90 trans.....   15. Vanislru..... I've researched this extensively myself as well....Here is what i've found out... the 2WD Hi-Lo 5speed trany is Not going to allow the 4:44 gear set to marry in as it sits stock...The Pinion shaft bearings sit in different enough locations that EXTENSIVE re-constructive surgury( welding of case,machining of case ) will have to take place....then the other MAJOR issue is the length of the pinion shaft is set up for an AWD model tranny, so it is roughly 50mm longer/shorter than the Hi-Lo trans.....I can't remember......So the tail end of the Hi-Lo box won't marry to it either.... I have talked Person to person with A guy who back in 93-94 Did a 4:11 swap into an RX AWD hi-lo tranny...And in order for that swap to happen he had to use the tail section of the AWD 4:11 trans, and LOSE the center diff Lock that was in the RX tranny..... I Sincerly hope your Machine Shop guy has a Magic Wand....and can make this Happen....I would Love to see it I have been wanting to post to this for you to have more first hand info, but HAve been Oh so Super busy... Today's the first chance I've had to sit and breath in months.... Hope this brought a bit more insight into your endevor...... John in Oregon......
  16. The BEAST is currently runing 33x12.5x15 Swamper TSL bias ply rubber.... I can light the rear up on pavement in 2WD...No axles blown yet.... I don't drive it on the street much yet, cause One of the fronts is out of balance, and at 40 mph it gets one hell of a shake going.... My next Monster When I get to it will be Solid axle in the rear Like I did For Ken's Brat..... Won't say what Age it will be though... Later, John

If you don't care about the cosmetic aspect of it, Meaning the fact that the skin runs really high around the back and sides of the rear taillights....I can get a Donor here , and Build one for you....I was originally goi ngto build one very similar to the Brat bumper, but The bumper skin is the issue.... I don't come to this thread every single time I get on the computer,I don't look at every single thread on every single forum on every single site I belong to either....I AM NOT A COMPUTER GEEK......it is just another TOOL to me.... You could post here 18 times and I might not see it till I happen to get told to come look at it....????Or you pm me about it....??? or someone CALLS ME and tells me about it....??? I've not been on or near the computer much lately....I am working myself into the ground at the day job trying to play catch up so I can pay people off and Pay you back as well....Going to a Collection agency will get you knowwhere... Because you are dealing with a car that is now an antique in excess of 20 yrs old, and most likely having its original prats in the carb, With very Low miles on it, You know the thing has sat a good portion of its Life...If the accell pump is acting funny, and you think you have fixed it , it will be temporary...All the rubber parts in the carb are hard and brittle.... My suggestion is to buy a re-build Kit and Re-Build the carb this winter while you say it will be down anyhow...You have a carb that is most likely in great shape still, but the more you run it the more it will be prone to have those rubber tidbits internaly falling apart and clogging a port...I don't recommend running seafoam through the system till you re-build it....Everything in the carb is in a delicate state of being right now from old age, and seafoam is a great cleaner....that has a high probability of disintigrating those tidbits... I voice this From Experience...... Good Luck And Have fun with it....I just got another 2 Door Coupe Myself... It won't stay stock though.... Later, John

As I stated previously....Your Money is tied up in steel....I bought originally, and lost then had to buy again and had it locked up, then bought a 3rd time and Have sitting.....I have been out of my other job now for coming on 5 weeks, and Had no extra $$$ flowing in....as soon as I get the extra Flow In You will get your $$ back.... Yes it was my Wife online yesterday getting ahold of Ken for me.... I am not one to sit here and Cry or Whine about my personal issues, but there have been several for me this Month...I am not blowing anyone off...Just have to catch back up to the swing of things ....My face has thrown me way of track....   23. Not putting Blame on anyone...???? Not sure whre you pulled that one from, And if you had any clue as to who I truely am...I always have way more going on than I can chew.... I don't deal with just this one internet community....I belong to several Internet groups....BUT I have been part of this paticular one since it was founded By Billy C..... I also belong to and do things for several Local groups....So yes I ALWAYS have more on my plate than A normal human could do and tolerate.... I don't go to work 9 to 5 and sit at a computer desk,and While I pretend to work Actually Surf the net playing or meddling.... Instead I typically get up around 5 am and go to bed around 12 or 1 or 3am....And I might occasionally get to take a mid afternoon power nap with my kids....? on average I might get 3 hrs of sleep in a nite....due to the fact that I have So much to Chew , swallow, and Sh*t out my A** on any given day..... I've lost count of How many Board members I've walked through a problem over the phone, Or done free work for, or Done a 1500.00 job for 300.00 , or given parts to someone so they can get their Project done......And the List goe's on and on forever....I do all these things for this group of Folks for 2 reasons, One, I Love this community as a whole, and two is makes my heart feel good, knowing I've helped someone get the car they Love running again..... So MorganM.....Piss Off...... Northguy.....I'll chew, swallow, and Sh*t your $$ out my a** as soon as I humanly can....So I can be done with you too... Nite, John Lock this one anytime Mods.....
  24. Matt...As I explained to you in the e-mail... I am not BLOWING you off....you will get your Bumpers... But at this point after reading all the B.S. splattered randomly by you through the Board, I am thinking of just sending your $$ back instead.... I have nothing to fear from you ....You can threaten me all you want, it will gain you nothing....I live paycheck to paycheck right now.......If you thought about taking me to court over this it would be a waste of your time...If you had thoughts of coming and seeing me with a thug or 2....?? all I can say is bad idea....? You would be at the back of a Long line of Bill collectors....you'd get your money sometime after 2057 or so...? and never see the bumpers... I have a cash slush fund which takes care of Subaru Related Items..... Prior to your first set of bumpers that fund was at 0.00 due to a slow winter....normally I try to keep it at or above $2000.00 After your First set of Bumpers was stolen, I had to pull $300.00 out of My A** from no-where to get the second set of materials bought....Then when I sent those out to get Coated ,as I've told you the place got locked down...???? So I had to pull an additional $300.00 out of my A** from no-where...for the third set...this is all before I took on the Job at The dealer.....and not counting any LABOR TIME... I'LL PRETEND THATS ALL FREE FOR THE TIME BEING... Then , I have to locate a powdercoater that does a decent job of coating things, so I don't have to hear back from you in a week or a month telling me the sh*t is flacking off, cause it was only 2mm thick.... And make sure they will do it for less than $250.00 a bumper...( cause I guarantee you'd be calling me if the Sh*t was falling off or flaking ) on top of all that, YOUR BUMPERS.... were'nt the only ones I had stolen/locked up....So YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD I OWE PRODUCT TO.... I DID NOT GO SOUTH TO GET THE SVX I WAS AFTER. and for all you who wonder HOW CAN I AFFORD SUCH A TRIP WHEN I HAVE NO $$...? HOW CAN I BUY SUCH A CAR WHEN I HAVE NO $$.....???? What business is it of your's where or how I do or get something...? FYI.....not all things are bought with MONEY....???? cash is King but barter is BETTER..... I also told another board member who's car I've had here in my drive that I would not go south till It was done , and I was able to drive it to him on my way through Also, MOST HAVE NOTICED I HAVE NOT BEEN ON THE BOARD OR COMPUTER MUCH LATELY...AND MOST THINK IT'S CAUSE I AM HIDING.....? I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE FROM, SO WHY HIDE....IF I AM NOT AROUND IT IS CAUSE I AM UP OVER MY EARS IN WORK TRYING TO GET PEOPLE FIXED OR CAUGHT UP, OR MAKING MONEY SO I CAN PAY OFF SOME OF THE BILLS THAT GOT BEHIND LAST WINTER WHEN WORK WAS SO F**KING SLOW THAT I AM STILL PLAYING CATCH UP ON....... I HAVE SCREAMED ENOUGH....MY FACE HURTS... So to end this Whole Crying mess....If you want your $$ back, then so be it....If however you want a Good Set of Bumpers delivered to you once they are Done then all I can say is Have a bit more patience...? If your done waiting, then, so be it.... Also, I will not be on the computer or able to respond to this till after Oct 29 or 30th Due to the fact that I have to get 3 teeth removed tomorrow, and will be out of it the rest of the week recovering....
