EA81T into my 79 wagon

Featured Replies

thaaaaaats right people. I got the very good idea tonight of swapping an EA81T into my car. How hard would it be? I know I'll need the fuel lines, motor, new exhaust, ECM, wiring harness....is that it? Anything else I'd need for this swap? How hard would it be and what sort of mods would I have to do? I'm also thinking about putting a dual range 4-speed in too. Would that be hard as well? Has anyone done this sort of swap before?

measure the engine first and then the engine compartment, but other than that, nothing too much in the way of $$, just time. but you know all that...

idea = sweet.

DUDE! I SAW AN SVX FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE TODAY! I ALMOST HAD A PERSONAL MOMENT! IT WAS CHERRY!

Does this have anything to do with your "ran to eugene" away message on AIM?? Is John hooking you up with some engine stuff? :D

Caboobaboobie's '79 Wagon (we all think) has an EA81 suspension. he can explain it.

i was told an ea82 wont fit in a gen1, because the engine bay is too narrow. but that was what i was TOLD, not something i found out myself

no Andrew and I had to run down to John's place in Eugene to give him some pics of our fellow Subaru member who was recently in a hunting accident (see post http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5176)

But my wagon has what looks like EA81 suspension under it. It looks exactly the same. I don't se any difference but I am going to be doing a lowering job on it (cut coils:D)
