just thought it would be cool to see all the lifted turbos. and there owners thoughts....

im not relly interested in the WISE OLD ONES opionions (that say that its dosnt work well offroad) on this as that has been gone over millions of times in posts like " can i lift a turbo) type stuff. anyway just wanted to see what people thought of there lifted turbos...

also pix if possible would be cool...

Turbo's are great. Advantages are:

Clearance, I can't stand the sight of the non turbo's exhaust hanging down.

Power, I cruise at 130 kmh or about 80mph

Disadvantages are the lower torque, which I dealt with by installing a hybrid highcomp turbo motor in. EFI block turbo goodies.

Mine WAS a turbo and I liked the downpipe for sure.

Its going to be an ej22 beast though now. Better power than the ea81 turbo but more important to me was the premium fuel cost savings.

though I never got to off-road this one, I liked it.

EA81T with decked heads. converted to 4 speed D/R.

BYB 4/3 lift, and 30x9.50x15s

K&N Cone intake.

could spin the tires on dry pavement, and also disintegrated a DOJ after only 50 miles when I stompped on it, spun on some loose gravel, and then caught pavement. Ker-Pow!

Here's my 88 GL10 Turbo wagon: DR 5spd, XT6 clutch, cone intake, mudrat downpipe, 2.5" exhaust, 4" Hi-rise lift, LSD, Pug steelies, siped Kumho MT's. The Mudrat downpipe and low restriction muffler give it a nice growl at spoolup. ;) I also run a 92 Loyale wagon (SPFI) with a DR but it is not lifted yet (it will be getting a 4" lift and pug alloys with Cooper STT's this spring!), so I have not been able to fully compare their off-road performance.

Car was really fun, did great on anything except really grippy surfaces where crawling was required, would do it again, but have moved to the 2.2l motor. last I heard it was still driving around Portland, OR

seems like a turbo would be a good way to get those big meats turning on the highway....

It's been off the road for some time, but the turbo is a blast and definately helps the car with driving the large tires and can achieve good highway speeds.
