Don't forget those idlers!

Featured Replies

For those who didn't konw....I just picked up The PoopenVagon, built by MorganM, Cared for, and modified some, by 95lwrx for the last few months....

Anyway, he had done the timing belt tensioners not long ago, so I didn't worry about it, but it turns out he made the same mistake I did the first time I did my own tbelts....didn't replace that idler....

so remember, don't neglect that idler, it can wreak havoc on your motor!

I just had to have mine replaced this week, as it seized and sheared off the teeth on the driver's t-belt.

yeah, i knew i had started to hear that sqeak of death for idlers a little bit. it's a good time to put on the new t-belts huh :)

BTDT... And they just HAD to put it on the side that turns the disty.

At least yours stayed with the car. Mine self distructed going 55 and shot right out the front of the car.

I had something like that happen in my blue wagon....except it was one of the ball bearings out of my right front CV, I was going closer to 75, and then the ball came back, and cracked my windsheild!
