Checked for codes, need to translte

Featured Replies

I have an 87 wagon that I just put a CCR engine in. It doesn't want to start. I plugged the green connectors together and checked the LED. The light is flashing six quick flashes. what does this translate to. Please help. I am at my wits end.

green connectors are usually for resetting the ECU. disconnect, connect the white ones, try again.

There's a thread on here somewhere for interpreting the codes.

I got the same thing with the white ones as the green. I am going back to the usrm and try and see if I can figure this out.

Perhaps I am a complete simpleton, but this is not working for me. What am I missing.

short flashes is the equivalent of an 'all clear' code. It also means what kind of car it is, tranny type, CA car or not, etc.

You're not doing anything wrong, the computer just doesn't have any stored codes.

what have you tried to get it to start? fuel, air, compression, spark?

It is a manual transmission, and I got it to start and run just fine at first. I am going to consult a professional because I am at a complete loss. Thanks for all the replies though.

I wonder what Professional he's gunna consult that isn't on this board? I don't think anyone who isn't on this board go be a "Professional" in Subaru.:headbang:

Well I am far from knowledgable enough to figure out what the heck I screwed up, so I am going to talk to a mechanic who has owned a couple of ea82 Subes and see what he thinks.

Well I said it first, I am a simpleton. I had a broken wire. that was the entire reason the wagon wouldn't stay running. It is running pretty good now, I am going to replace the O2 sensor and get my equal length catless header made. Then the pugs will go on. Yeah!
