max boost ea82t??

Featured Replies

I ran a search and couldn't find what i was looking for.

How much oost can be pushed on a stock ea82t with out a intercooler,

How much can be pushed after a front mount is made?

25+ psi on regular gas, just remove waste gate line

no fuel cut experienced

no idea how long it will last that way ;)

i think a billion people have posted this q. just have a look with the search and i know you'll find some answers.

you're looking about 9-10psi without an intercooler but remember, even though you crank up the boost, means it'll run leaner then it does which means more engine fatigue. More of a risk of blowing your engine sooner.

My experience... stock turbo, top mount saab 900 IC. All at the dragway.

Ran 20 or so runs at around 15-17psi no problems.

Ran 1 run at about 22psi - headgasket

keep in mind this is only 1/4 mile runs. no title, etc. so no street info.

blown bimer ran 25 psi on the street but it killed the engine in like 3-400 miles but it was a fast sob

and i mean like rod knocking so bad i can't hear myself think bad

fresh rebuilt ea82t(new internals, etc), was just trying to find out so i know what to set the mbc for. I know I have to break the motor in, should I run lower boost during break in or turn it up to 8-9 psi like it will be run before I get an intercooler fabb'd up?

logic says stock(7) boost i would run less if i was breaking in a new engine

i was planning on running about 5 psi until about 500 miles or so on the rebuild, then turn it up to 7 or 8 and leave it there until i get an intercooler rigged up

run stock boost during break in. It'll properly seat the rings like they should be IIRC. Then, once you get it broken in, my advise, since its a fresh rebuild, DON'T crank up the boost until you've gotten an intercooler, larger injectors, and a AFPR to give you more fuel. Ask Tex how much of a pain in the butt it has been for him and his RX......

I'm planing on doing an ej22t swap later this year, would it even be worth trying to upgrade the ea motor with an intercooler and those upgrades or should I just save the money from it and put it towards the motor swap?

I hope you have an extra engine ready to drop in!

Put in an intercooler and run stock boost= more power and longevity.

Cranking up the boost this time of year on a non-intercooled turbo engine??? WHY???

The intercooler is the HEART of the turbocharged engine!!!

Think pressure DENSITY rather than just PRESSURE. Density is what makes power. The intercooler will give you that.

I have run the ea-83T over 20 si plenty of times but never without an intercooler.

what's si?

and which car came with an ea83t??

i want one
