Auto Lock when starting engine

Featured Replies

Greetings fellow Subaru owners!

'06 Impreza 2.5i wagon. Is there a way to make the doors lock automatically after starting the car?

Thank you in advance,

Moshe

The first place I'd look for something like that is the Owner's Manual. What's it say?

I THINK my wife's '03 OBW has some kinda connectors under the door sill that will enable an auto-locking feature but I've never investigated it. Maybe the dealership will know or try emailing Joe at http://www.cars101.com

I could not find a reference to this  feature at all in the OM.

I then called the sales guy and he says they disable this feautre by default so that the customers do not lock themselves out by mistake. He asked me to bring it back to the dealership to have this behavoir changed.

Anyone know if I can do it myself and if so, how?

Thanks again,

Moshe

It is either a jumper under the dash, or some black magic with the key fob to set it. Let them show you how its done, then write down the procedure (if its black magic) in the owners manual.

And then post it here so everyone else who wants, can search it, and do it up hardcore ;)

"black magic" I take it that would be techno-slang, nipper?
