June 3, 200619 yr Hello all, My friend has a 93 Legacy (AWD, 2.2---I'm pretty sure) and his headlights keep blowing his fuse. He replaces it and it lasts for a while then blows again. Any suggestions? Anyone have the wiring schematics? I'd apprecaite any help - Justin
June 3, 200619 yr the schematics are in the haynes manual. SOunds like you have a bad pigtail with a voltage leak. nipper
June 4, 200619 yr Had same problem on my 96. Soldered in a new pigtail and that cured the problem. mine was pretty burnt looking. cost around 3 bucks.
June 4, 200619 yr If he is using higher wattage bulbs than original it may be the problem. Also check the wiring at the lights for damage and the fuse connection.
June 5, 200619 yr Author Sorry for the late reply....the wattage is the same stock bulbs but what are pigtails? Thanks - Jutboy
June 6, 200619 yr I think he meant replacing the light sockets if they are damaged and soldering in new ones with short wire ends, or pigtails as they are called.
June 6, 200619 yr a pigtail is basically any connector with about 6-12" of wire on it It can be for a switch, a lightbulb, a relay, motor or a sensor. nipper
