Legacy 1990 passenger front door locked

Recommended Posts

My Subaru Legacy 1990 LS FWD Sport 2.2 Standard S/W left hand front (passenger) door stays locked all the time (it used to work two weeks ago). Electronic unlock system seems to work but doesn't stay in unlocked position. When I put the key in the lock it could not turn. The only key that works is the one on the driver’s door. Any advice or suggestion how to repair the front passenger door are appreciated.

Thanks,

Stan

My 1996 Legacy sedan's rear door is stuck closed. Can't open the door from inside or outside. I think a linkage popped loose.

Going to have a LOT of fun removing teh inner door panel with the door closed.

you need a new door lock motor. These are motors ( i think) and not solenoids (takes less power to operate) and one of the internal switches are bad in the motor housing

I would check the wiring to the lock motor (solenoid?) since there may be a problem with it. Check the voltage getting to it when you activate the locks. Make sure it isn't mechanically jammed also.

I did some checking in my service manual and it calls it a lock actuator (for minds that need to know).
