the AWD 4WDs

Featured Replies

Every time I see someone refer to a true 4x4 Ru as being AWD I get scary images in my head of people driving around on dry pavement with that red button depressed. I'm sure most are just mistaken in their use of terms, but how many people do you know of who actually ruined their car that way? And how long do you think it would take?

It will probably never ruin it. Would wear out some tires perhaps, and maybe eventually cause some axle stress - but axles are consumables on older RU's anyway.

When I want to drive fast I put it in 4WD... Guess I might find out how tough these gearboxes are sooner or later. I'll let everyone know if I ever do break something because of it.

I'd get a lot more tire wear onroad driving like a hoon if I didn't put it in 4WD. I can do 1 wheel burnouts easy with my 215/60/15" road tires. The whole pos camber stuffs it all up. (planning on fixing that ;))
