Anybody else have paint issues with a new Subaru?

Featured Replies

My mother's 06 has developed some clear coat peeling on the roof and subaru is claiming it isn't from factory and its been too long for them to fix it (bought new in February). Just wondering if anybody else has had issues as I'm gonna recommend legal action if there is a pattern.

Go to another dealer, or call Subaru USA, u only bought it in Feb thats not long ago.

I've heard some clear coat issues, but it involves bird poo or calcium from overhead cement.

DO what he said, thats unacceptable for the dealer to say that. The warrenty covers paint too.

Its been to 3 dealers already. Subaru of America won't do anything.

Yeah, i also have an 06 with clear coat problems. Mainly on the hood.... i bought the clear coat protector package though, so they'll repaint my car for me any time something goes wrong withthe paint... well, or so they say... i havent tried yet... let me know if you find anything out from Sube or America

Subaru paint sucks. Welcome to the world of it. My 04 wrx has clearcoat issues and chips on the front up the yin yang...you'd think they would have fixed the problem by now....go to nasioc.com and search "paint problems" and "crappy paint" about fifty million threads will come up.
