September 21, 200619 yr What is the difference between the Hatch struts and Wagon/ Brat and Sedan struts??? Is there any interchanging between and or retrofitting???
September 21, 200619 yr What is the difference between the Hatch struts and Wagon/ Brat and Sedan struts??? Is there any interchanging between and or retrofitting??? Nope. Brat's don't have struts for one thing - neither do "sedans" - you must be talking about the EA81 hatch or the EA82 3 doors. Wagons are shorter than hatch struts.... and are you talking EA81 or EA82? Makes no difference as they are all different lengths. You can buy the things brand new anyway. GD
September 21, 200619 yr Author Yeah sorry I got on a brain fart. It's an 85 1600cc 2wd. If for some reason I buy it off my friend I'd be converting it to 4wd. But I was just wondering because he says they are unique to the Hatch and hard to find.
September 21, 200619 yr There shouldnt be any difference between Wagon, Hatch, Sedan or Brat struts. However, 2WD and 4WD struts do differ. All are interchangeable. -Brian
September 21, 200619 yr By "hatch struts" I figured he meant the gas struts that hold the tailgate up Which is it? GD
September 21, 200619 yr Your an idiot Rick... why would he mention a Brat if he were talking about lift struts? :-p -Brian
September 21, 200619 yr yah no dude, i thought the same damn thing! i thought he was talking about the hatch support strut.. i even read it, thought that, and noticed how close it could be to being misinterpreted as strut cartridge on a hatch... oops. thats funny.
September 23, 200619 yr Nobody did say what wheel struts work on what. Like will a 91 ea 82 4x4 wagon strut work on a 86 ea 82 4x4 wagon. I did search but couldnt find it.
