oil coming out of oil cap

Featured Replies

My oil is slowly coming out of my oil cap on my ea81, in about 300kms its almost emptied the engine, and today caused it to loose power and tap like crazy on the drivers side bank. Its also putting some of the oil into the air filter.

What could cause this?

Clogged PCV system. Replace the valve, and all the PCV lines, and the foam filter in the airbox.

Guarans.

TONS of blow by. Like said above replace PC valve and make sure line is clear.

ok found the power loss and noise was not the oil, the oil level was fine! it was water loss and overheating, fixed the hose and topped it up and she runs and has power but the idle is about 600 and lumpy and low end power is really lumpy (makes the engine shake, like its firing on three).

any ideas on what to do next? I thought I would check the valve clearance first.

Compression check

will do, but I don't think it should be too far off because the engine still goes great at higher rpms (over about 2500).

So did mine with one blown HG and a cracked head.

oh, poo... maybe :-\

That's alright bro, we've got that other EA81 and it's easy to do head gaskets. I guess we'll have to take both heads off and have a good look at them before heading out for the offroading on the 13th.
